Editorial Board Composition Among Pediatric Cardiology Journals

No data currently exist on the diversity of editorial board members (EBMs) pediatric cardiology journals. The objective was to investigate boards 5 journals assess composition these in terms geographical, gender, and economic representation their members. Information EBMs collected directly from journal websites accessed February 2022. following were collected: country practice (including World Bank geographical income classification), institution practice, role board, whether an individual held a 1 or more included. A total 455 identified. 369 (81%) male. All editors-in-chief male, 4 United States. practicing North America accounted for 278 individuals (61%) reviewed. next majority are within Europe Central Asia (23%, n = 103), East Pacific (7%, 31), Middle Africa (4%, 18), Latin Caribbean 16). Less than 2% (n 9) Sub-Saharan South Asia. Over 90% 415) high-income countries. There no low-income Women cardiologists countries outside underrepresented studied. Diversifying may provide greater underserved areas encourage broader avenues investigation research.
